The Indian Music

Hey dude! Listening to music? Probably. I love listening to music one way or the other as you do. Even though I listen to the latest music updated daily, to get rid of myself from the daily stress I’m listening to my most favourite Indian Music. Wanna know about Indian Music? Chalea. If you see music in India, it had begun as a source of social-religious life.

Do you know the varieties of Indian music? In India, you can see classical music, patriotic music, folk music, Indian film music, Indian rock and Indian pop music. When you come to India’s traditional music, I mean the classical, Hindustani music in the north and Carnatic music in the south has been developed from the period of ancient life history.

Hindustani Music

I love India and also many foreigners do why because of it's traditional cultural even in the music too. Every region in India has its style and forms of music. As of north, Hindustani classical music is primarily vocal-centric, the traditional music of northern regions of the Indian subcontinent.
The major vocal forms associated with Hindustani classical music are the Khayal, Ghazal, Dhrupad, Dhammar, Tarana, and Thumri. Oh! There are so many, right?!. Dhrupad style of singing is traditionally performed by men, sounds good, with a Tanpura and Pakhawaj. The sitar is the most popular musical instruments in North India, yes, of course!

Carnatic Music

I have started in the north. Now come with me to the south. Let’s see the speciality of the south. Carnatic music or Carnatic Sangeet is the south Indian classical music, a system of music commonly associated with southern India. Carnatic Sangeet has a rich traditional history and is one of the gems of world music.

Like Hindustani, the main traditional forms of improvisation in Carnatic music are Alapana, Niraval, Pallavi, Ragam, Swarakalpana, Tanam, and Tani Avartanam. Oh! This is more than the north. Carnatic Sangeet has developed in the south Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.

Indian Film Music

One of the most popular Indian music forms is Film music. Yes, yes, correct! Not only entertainment, but it also becomes a separate need in life for many. It is a platform for films produced in the Indian nation. Hindi film industry, popularly known as Bollywood, along with Indian regional film industries like Kollywood, Mollywood, Tollywood, produces thousands of films a year.

Most of the films are musical features with songs and dances The demands of a multicultural, increasingly globalized Indian audience led to a mixing of local and international musical traditions.

Indian Folk Music

Indian fusion music came into the picture with rock and roll fusions in the 1960s and 1970s. India has its form of folk music. Indian folk music is diverse because of India's vast cultural diversity. It has many forms, including Bhangra, Lavani, Dandiya, Sufi folk-rock, and Rajasthani.

This rich tradition of folk music is very much alive in rural and some metros. The arrival of pop culture and new-age cinema started entertaining the society, yes, everybody enjoys it!

Classical Singing

The art of classical singing is being practised in the Indian subcontinent since ages. As we all that the art is popular, not as a form of entertainment, but do you know as a means of connecting with the Divine Being, if not, know it. It is considered as one of the basic ways through which a human being can connect with God, as of me it is an ultimate way.

The distinct forms of melodies sung by classical singers are known as 'Ragas'. Some of these Ragas are said to have a divine quality, which helps an individual in meditating, it’s so cool!
