World Records in Music

Instead of saying “Nothing is Impossible”, some prefer to say “Everything is Possible”. Because even the words “Impossible” or “Nothing” convey a negative thought or deliver a negative message. Making yourself to create an achievement will come from every positive usage of words.

Creating a new world record or breaking the previous record is what you think to hit. But only a few achieve it. The extreme usage of anything will lead to the world record. It may be the largest, smallest, longest, shortest, fastest, slowest. Here are a few of them.

Fastest Guitar Player

What do you mean by fastest? Maybe a little more than usual. That’s what you think. But that is not the case. Nepali guitarist Nirvana Bista played the guitar by playing “Flight of the Bumblebee” at 1600 bpm. Flight of the Bumblebee usually enjoys just 170 bpm.

The Largest Human Image of a  Musical Instrument

Do you think it is risky to make an instrument by asking many people to gather for a while? Well, it may sound different, but made. In 2014 on their National Music Day, the French 1660 people took part to complete the 56-meter long saxophone instrument created as a world record by constructing the largest human image.

Largest Attendance in One Location at a Music Festival

3.3 million people came to the Danube Island Festival, held in Vienna, in 2015. What a huge gathering! Do you know the reason for the huge gathering? It is free to gather to celebrate the festival. They hold the festival on a 6.5 km strip of land on the island of Donauinsel in Vienna.

Most Instruments Used in a Piece of Music

Guess the number of musical instruments. 30, 40 or even 100? Actually, it is 315. I didn’t even know there were these many instruments in the world. The record by Rupam Sarmah and his team from India. In the performance, the number of instruments goes up to 370 after including the duplicates and additionally 106 vocalists.

Longest Music Video

How long do you like to listen to a song? 6 to 7 minutes? Here you should know that ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams, the 'world's first 24-hour music video', recognised by the World Records as the longest music video. The 2013 video features people miming and dancing to the track played on a loop 360 times.
