DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PLAYLISTS

Sona: Hey Tom! How do you do?

Tom: Hi Sona! I’m always as good as new!

Sona: Shall we play a video game?

Tom: Not now.

Sona: What are you holding in your hand?

Tom: Nothing just a Mixtape.

Sona: Mixtape?! What’s that for?

Tom: It’s a Playlist, homemade compilation of music and there are different playlists too.

Sona: Oh! Then tell me about different playlists and their differences.

Tom: Sure!

Tom: Let’s start with an album. Album is a collection of audio recordings released in the collection of CDs or MP3. Music is stored on an album in sections termed tracks, normally 11 or 12 tracks. A music track is an individual song or instrumental recording.

Tom: There is something called LP which means Long Playing or Long Play. LP is an analogue sound storage medium and then later it was the stereophonic sound was used. This leads to the format for the album recording. Usually 40 minutes or 10 tracks at the minimum. There have been multiple disc albums up to 4x released in history.

Tom: Singles, a song recording of fewer tracks than an LP record or an album is recorded with 2–5 songs max, they can contain multiple versions in different kinds of songs. The entire release is 30 minutes or less and all individual tracks are less than 10 minutes.

Tom: Like LP we have EP, Extended Play. It has more recordings than singles. The release has a total of (1-3) tracks, more of the tracks are 10 minutes long and the entire release is less than 30 minutes. The release has a total of (4-6) tracks and the entire release is less than 30 minutes.

Tom: The mixtape is a compilation of music, typically from multiple sources, recorded onto a medium. In hip hop and R & B culture, a mixtape often describes a self-produced or independently released album. Later, a mixtape is comparable to a studio album or extended play.

Sona: Info sounds useful!
